BBC showcases Turkish superyacht industry
A TV crew from the BBC programme "Middle East Business Report" visited marinas, boatbuilders, boatyards and refit centres in Göcek and Bodrum — two boatbuilding areas located on Turkey’s south coast where the traditional gulet type of boat was born.
The report on the weekly programme, which is aired globally on BBC World, will focus on the development of the Turkish boatbuilding industry from traditional wooden building over the last few centuries to the high tech superyachts under construction today.
Industry leaders are also interviewed to discuss how they are surviving in the current global economic climate.
Some of the filmed locations are Maritime Media, Orion Yachting, MarinTurk Göcek Village Port, Aegean Yacht, Cobra Yachts and Aganlar Boatyard.
