The 2011 Australian Superyacht and Marine Export Conference (ASMEX) is the first of its kind for Australia. This conference has definitely created interest both locally and internationally with representatives coming from USA, UK, Thailand, Taiwan, Korea, Europe, China, Fiji, Indonesia, Middle East, New Zealand and Singapore.

Superyacht Australia CEO MaryAnne Edwards said “Obviously to survive in the current economy it is essential to take every opportunity to understand the market you are operating in and to network with those companies in the same industry sector.”

Edwards added “Success is based on good information and decision making and it is obvious that those registered for the conference understand this. The conference programme is broad and designed to provide relevant information to all within the industry”

The conference will provide the latest update on what is happening in the Australian and global Superyacht and Marine Export industries. It is apparent from those overseas delegates registered that there is keen interest in the Australian Industry and the opportunities for business here. With only two weeks to go and registrations coming in daily it is expected this conference will certainly deliver on its promises. Edwards also stated “It is proven that networking opportunities create business and the conference social programme is sure to provide the platform for this on a number of occasions”.

As numbers are close to capacity anyone interested in attending this conference should register as soon as possible. Discounts have been provided to Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show exhibitors, AIMEX and SYBA members.

The conference will be staged immediately prior to the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, 17-18 May, providing further value to delegates attending. The Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show celebrates its 23rd year in 2011. Superyacht exhibitors at the 2011 Show include New Zealand company Diverse Projects which is showcasing Black Pearl, a 31.5m long-range superyacht designed by Craig Loomes of LoMocean Design.

The vessel has been built to Germanischer Lloyd 100 A5 class survey with no expense spared on equipment. Another superyacht at the Show is the 37.1metre Monte Fino Masteka 2 exhibited by Marine Auctions. This environmentally-friendly expedition vessel is powered by twin Caterpillar C32s producing 1675hp each. The Show also has the Superyacht Australia pavilion with a range of exhibitors catering to this sector of the market. The 2011 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show is staged Thursday, May 19 to Sunday, May 22 from 9am to 5pm daily at Queensland’s Gold Coast in Australia.
