Azimut-Benetti unveils new strategy

In the wake of "profound changes in the boating industry" Azimut-Benetti has divided its activities into three main lines of business — Yachts, which will handle boats up to 30m (98ft), Megayachts for boats over 30m (98ft), and Yachtique which will offer strategic services for boat owners.
Paolo Casani will manage the new Yachts division. He first joined the company in 2008, successfully directing the Yachtique Division. He has 25 years' experience in the fashion industry and luxury goods sector with companies such as Armani, Valentino, Calvin Klein and Ferragamo.

The Megayacht division will be headed by Vincenzo Poerio, a long-time manager of the company and CEO of Benetti for the past 18 years.

The main change in this division concerns the Azimut Grande Collection of planing boats over 30m (98ft). All models will now have wider possibilities for customisation, similar to that seen at Benetti.

"While still maintaining the distinctive spirit of each of the group's three brands (Azimut Yachts, Atlantis, and Benetti), this new organisation gives full expression to the company's desire to continue to keep its leading position in all key markets, as strengthened by its track record of financial stability," says the company.
